Richard Cronborg, Is a regular here at Cornerstone. Rich is a retired heavy machine operator who has showcase his work all over the Chicagoland area. His work is extremely colorful and shows his admiration for life.
Looking for a diversion from work, Rich studied drawing, painting and printmaking at the College of Du Page. From there his interest for for art grew into an obsession. When you view a "Corndog" , a Cronborg piece you have seen everyday people raise to the status of importance
Richard has been inspired by Ed Paschke. "What I liked is he took things like transvestites and accordion players and made them look epic. He could paint like Homer could write. I try to do that in my style now. "
Cronborg uses video, the internet and in-person charm at openings to raise his place in the art community
"
I dream about art. I like themes. I like the human condition. I enjoy
psychological art doing a painting and moving people to think about
their realities and relationships." |
